If you want frills, go elsewhere. A small (probably family run establishment) apparently frequently by locals, since everyone else seemed to know each other. I was the only non-French speaker in the entire place, but they still treated me like a member of the family. My waitress did not speak a kick of English, but she helped me get through the menú with kindness and care. Food is plentiful and delicious. For dinner they had a menú of three plates, with a variety of choices for appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I ordered the melon with prosciutto, the veal shank with white wine sauce (like a dinosaur leg, but super tender) and the baba aux rhum. Everything was outstanding, including the unmarked bottle of local wine that accompanied the meal well. If you are looking for high end dining, this is not your place. But if you want to eat well like the locals do, this is a fabulous option.

Great service and lovely people. We were on a rugby tour travelling to La Rochelle and stopped off for some drinks #saintsontour2022

A true locals' watering hole, photos of regulars and good times stretching all across the wall. Drinks cheap for Bordeaux, service friendly and without airs and graces, entire vibe unpretentious and authentic. Sitting there, listening to cheesy Europop and watching the trams glide by, I was so contented I almost missed my train. Skip the places in front of the station and come here instead.

Absolutely outstanding, unbelievably good food but at these prices I can't think of anywhere better. Lovely, friendly waitress. My advice is don't bother with the tourist places nearby, this is the place to eat. The locals clearly know a good thing when they see it. Easily five stars

As described by many others No frills, basic and simple but very good and enjoyable value. 3 courses plus wine and coffee for 15.90. Great friendly service from Pinto.Very convenient for station or Ibis and Best Western hotels across the road .

I concur with some other recent traveller reviews of this place. Affordable, local, friendly no bs bistro establishment. Don't expect a lot of English here but our server was fantastically nice and accommodating. Probably our best experience at a French bistro to date.

What a wonderful restaurant and bar! Just around the corner from the more expensive places opposite the railway station. We had a very warm welcome from our waiter, Shpend Kadriad Pinto. He looked after us throughout our meal. He was amusing and made us laugh, he was lovely and a credit to the establishment. We chose the weekend menu 17 pp. My husband had the fish soup and I had salad followed by chicken in a tomato onion and pepper sauce. All were home made and delicious. Don't expect anything fancy, this was cooked and presented beautifully. A bottle of wine, dessert and coffee were included in the price. Excellent!
